Please follow all below given steps to migrate Email from old cPanel To new cPanel or new Hosting?

Here you need to follow the two-part process to migrate email successfully:

  1. In part One, you would need to take the backup of email directory on old cPanel account.
  2. In part Two, you would need to Restore this backup to the new cPanel account.

let’s Start Part One

Step-1: Login to your cPanel account and Click on “File Manager” under the FILES section.

Step-2: In the cPanel window click on mail folder in the left side window and select your domain (which emails need to transfer) in the right side panel, Right Click on the domain and select Compress to zip the folder and download the zip file to your computer.

Step-3: Now in the same cPanel window click on the etc folder in the left side window and select your domain in the right side panel, Right Click on the domain and select Compress to zip the folder and download the zip file to your computer.

Now in part One, we have downloaded backup from mail & etc folder.

let’s Start Part Two

Step-4: First we will check how many accounts are there in new cPanel hosting. By default, there is only one account.

Go to cPanel-> Search and select Email Accounts -> One New Email account Windows will open, see below.

Step-5: Now login to the New cPanel account of your new hosting and Open “File Manager” under the FILES section. You can see there no folder with a domain name under mail. So Click on Upload button and select old zip file to upload.

Step-5: Now in the right side panel of the mail folder in cPanel. Right click on zip folder of email backup and Extract it. You are done with the email mailbox restore.

Note:- Please do the same steps to restore etc backup which we had taken from old cPanel.

Go to New cPanel -> Select etc Folder -> Upload backup of the etc folder which we had taken from old hosting -> Extract the backup in etc folder.

Cheers! You have successfully restored all email accounts with email backup. 🙂

Let’s Cross Check-

Go to cPanel-> Search and select Email Accounts -> All email accounts should be here in new cPanel which were in old cPanel.

Please Comments below if you have any query or facing any issue.
